We hosted a location lighting workshop at night in Durham featuring the lovely model that is Holly Lemmon. This was a basic workshop which consisted of showing how you can use one light and a soft box to really bring out your subject when shooting in pitch black, or very little light.

Durham was the location as there was quite a few really nice places to use which featured some background lights to explain exposing for some ambient light and adding in the flash to really make the most of a shot. Through the images below, there’s some examples of how the shot looks without the flash and how it looks with the flash added in too, so keep an eye out for those!

Here’s the shot without the flash being used and then the shot with the flash turned on.

We also headed to the shops and used their lights from inside the shop, coupled with a Godox LED305II light to add a little extra fill on the dark side.

Here’s a behind the scenes image from the night too!
